:: Guide to Uploading Pictures ::

No idea what is uploading? Confused when people say "upload to your own server"? No fear, with this detailed guide, you'll learn exactly what uploading is and how to upload! =)

When you upload something, basically you transfer something into a server that hosts the picture for you, and then gives you the URL of the picture for you to use in whatever way you want. Like displaying it on a webpage.

First, choose a free server like Angelfire or Photobucket. I'll use Angelfire for this guide.

Signing up for an account

1. Access angelfire.com
2. Click on Sign Up.
3. You will come to a page that offers you 4 different types of accounts. Choose the one marked FREE. Unless, of course, you want to pay for it.
4. Fill in your particulars at the page you come to, and then click I Agree at the very bottom of the page.
5. You should be informed that your account's ready for use! =)

Uploading the images

1. Click on Web Shell on the left hand (your left hand) corner of angelfire.com.

2. Click on browse as seen in the above image, and then choose the pic you want to upload.
3. Click on Upload (if you have already uploaded this picture, but you have made edits and want to upload it again under the same name, check the Overwrite button too).
4. Ok! It's done uploading! =) Now to get the URL of the picture. See the image below, and the white box with lots of words in it? Click once on the name of the pic you've just uploaded, and then click View.

5. You'll come to a window with only the picture in it. The URL of the picture is located in the address bar (the white box with http://www.blah blah)! Simple as that, right?
6. To display the picture on a webpage, replace YOUR URL HERE (in the box below) with the URL of your own picture, and then copy and paste the coding wherever you want the image to be displayed.

VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure you do SOMETHING to index.html (ie, display a picture in it, make it look like your own webpage, etc) or else Angelfire will disable your account after 30 days!!
