IFB Exclusive This is Sanna Guerin, reporting live from the Universal City Hilton, giving you the taste for the first day of the 20th Yahren Reunion. This reporter arrived in Los Angeles Friday afternoon, about 2pm local time, and finally arrived at the Hilton after a huge confusion at 3:30pm. Registration for the convention had begun at 3pm, and continued for the next few hours. Fran "Mother Phran" Levy and Deejay "The Con Master" Driscoll were in the registration booth outside the main ballrooms on the hotel's main floor. Right behind me were James Lee "BZRKR," Michele "One-L Dammit" Martin, and Judy "The Chocolate Slayer." They all yelled, "SANNA!!" and we knew who we all were. The way the list members (both the fanfic and the main list) recognize each other is by a picture of Red Dwarf's Lister (bad pun) in a Colonial Warrior's jacket. Who's here? A good sampling of many people from the lists -- Rae Riley, Randy Jost, Laura "Mitiori," Tina Vivian, Lee Storm and her Art, Eugenia Horne, Greg McCausey, Robert Hanczyk, Wayne Killian, Eric Rhyder, Jeff Kleist, and a sundry of others that I can't name right now (it's been a loooooooong day). We can't forget about Orange Squadron's members, and the Thirteenth Tribe (the oldest club for BSG). Events started at 7pm, at a gathering where John Colicos and Terry Carter were presented with plaques with inscriptions about the Warrior of the Millenium (Carter), and something about "You have not seen the last of Baltar" for Colicos (the Baltar Anti-Defamation League, so I'm informed). They then sat down and had their pictures taken with the fans until about 8:30-9. No autographs were done, because they'll be done tomorrow. Both men are very, very friendly, and extremely willing to talk to the fans. I got pushed up behind them because I was once again too nervous to go up to them, and they were wonderfully kind. John Colicos and I even had a conversation about airlines, which is quite amusing. And it is the current consensus that Terry Carter would make a wonderful replacement as the Commander of the Galactica. He has the presence that would be just perfect, very similar to what Lorne Greene possessed. Ron Kelly, the infamous Reese, came halfway through the picture session, and interrupted it as the three actors talked among themselves. The trio finally left, and that was that for the evening. Even as we speak, people are still gathered in the ballroom, talking wildly. Here with me now are Randy Jost, James Lee, Rae Riley, Laura "Mitiori" and Chris Bodenbender, a BSG fan who will hopefully be joining our virtual world (BSG-THEME) soon. Everybody says, "Hi!" If anyone wants to send questions for us to ask the cast and crew during the panels, Randy says to either send emails to us via the list, or to the AOL addy -- rjost78542@aol.com and we'll do our best to get them out. Most people should be here tomorrow. Richard Hatch, I'm told, is already back in LA, and will be here in the morning. Until the next report, this is Sanna Guerin signing out from the 20th Yahren Reunion. P.S. - A few of the more brazen members of the list send out a few ":P" messages. They're just kidding, of course. :)
