Hello again! Live from the Universal Hilton! (I better get this out before I fall over from lack of sleep, too, as it is really 2:00am by my internal body 'Michigan clock' and I am already zombie-ville.) Anyhow, there are as you can guess, around-the-clock efforts to get the IRC up and running but downloading the proper software is taking a great deal of time. Randy is faithfully determined to have it running by tomorrow. We have yet to get the quest's schedules and a great deal of the con guests are due to arrive tomorrow. Anyhow, what is going on you ask?(!?) Well, as I said before, got back to the hotel after returning from the Studios just in time for Registration. The line was already pretty long when we arrived and Fran and the others were frantically working to get moving along pretty quickly. I went upstairs to change since it was a bit chilly for shorts (for me) before going back down to get in line. On the way down again, I spotted Lee in the lounge with Art and finally I got to meet James Lee. After hanging around for iced Capuccino, and for them to finish their meal, I wandered on down to register. It really was not too long of a line although I heard a few grumbling. There will always be a few anyhow, and things began to move well enough. I combed the line a bit and around the lobby to see if I could find more list-members and finally found my roommate Laura. I figured she was around somewhere as things were a bit amiss in the room or I figured the housekeepers were perhaps a bit liberal about reading my newspaper (and the TV remote was moved too). (Lonnie) Wayne was there, too. After registration, a few members decided to get some real food and we decided to look for something on the Universal Studios Skywalk, a series of shops and restaurants just outside the Studio's entrance. So we ate and killed time there until festivities began at 7pm. All I can say is that Sanna's dad must think we are a pretty strange bunch... (Well, Robert H. was with us, so you _know_ how that is... ) ;-)) *hugs to him* Arriving back, some of us we went straight to the ballroom to check things out. A bunch of people were already milling around Terry Carter and asking questions. He was very animated and seemed to be enjoying himself immensely. I went for the 'Ambrosia' punch and sought a place to sit. A group of us found a table over by Lee and sat down for some cake. Ah yes, the 'famous' Viper cake... Very nice! After the blue punch ran out, it was switched to red and became 'Ovion' punch. Soon John Colicos arrived, dapper as ever, and Terry Carter went over to embrace him. Much applause was put forth and the atmosphere was wonderful. After a short time, the two made there way to the front for announcements. Deejay presented a plaque to each one of them with quotes. Tigh's said: "There is only one thing worse than stealing rations from the officer's mess -- and that is getting _caught_ stealing rations from the officer's mess." Baltar's plaque was from the 'Baltar Anti-Defamation League' and simply read "You haven't heard the last from Baltar!" Each of the actors read it out loud to the audience and the everyone cheered and clapped. After the presentation, both men went to a corner were they chatted to fans for a while before retiring for the evening to their own accomidations. I spotted the man who played Reese, and he actually was very nice and humourous about how we teased him mercilessly about his Character. I also saw a couple of the writers milling around. I did not ask for any autographs as of yet as I figured there would be plenty of time tomorrow for just that sort of thing. The guests left around 9-ish to retire for the evening. So, I went and hung around Randy and Jeff doing computer things and James Lee was there, as well as a German fan who asked me to add him to the list just today. Later Laura, Sanna, Rae (II) and a few others whose names escape me for the time being showed up in the room Randy was 'hiding' in. But alas, I began to nod off and excused myself. But now I am nodding off on the computer, so I _really_ better get myself to bed. All interested list members are gathering in the lobby at 8 tomorrow to go out for breakfast. Post again soon...
