To  -ESCREVER O NOME A QUEM É DIRIGIDO AQUI-

I am writing this letter to show my support for a NEW "Battlestar Galactica" movie and/or TV series. 

This my way of saying: Please do! Put "Battlestar Galactica" on the air again. With all the original casting! Dirk Benedict, Richard Hatch, Anne Lockhart, Laurette Spang, Terry Carter, Herbert Jefferson Jr., John Colicos, Tony Swartz, Maren Jensen, Jack Stauffer and all the others. 
 

Now please consider it! I'm sure that I speak for a lot of other Portuguese that would support the idea, but don't even know about it!
For years, since I fist saw the series (some 17 years ago) I wished for more episodes, for more stories. I didn't know why it had disappeared like it did, at the time.
"Battlestar Galactica" had it all. Great special effects (for 1978 that is), great characters, excellent friendship/relationships between them (witch I've tried to follow all my live), an ideals, the situations "against all odds" and still manage to survive. The bad guys, those "Cylons" with a red eye, or Baltar as the traitor of a race.

I'm sure that you must have received thousands of letters just like mine, but I couldn't just let it pass me by. I must definitely support this wonderful hope (something that the "Battlestar Galactica" fans learned to have) of reviving my favourite show of all times. 
Even now that I've -IDADE AQUI!- years old, and that look at series with a much critic eyes than I did before, I still love the show - with flaws an all (nothing is perfect).

Another note before I go: One of the reasons that "Galactica: 1980" didn't work, was because of the recasting. New characters that had non or few history, that were just a visible copy of the previous characters. The other reason is that they stopped treating the people who watched it (and I can say that almost every one that I know watched it at the time - even my mother and father) as thinkers, as intellectual intelligent. They aimed it (I think) for the kids. All the others and me like me. And this killed the rest of the series. Even a kid could watch how silly those episodes were. And these are the reasons that make me want to say: Please, don't make another "Galactica: 1980". Go for the original show, and treat people (and kids) as thinkable people, intelligent people, and I am sure that the new "Battlestar Galactica" will be a success...


Ok, think I said all I wanted to say. Just hope that I expressed my self, well!
If not here is the resume:

Revive "Battlestar Galactica" with the original Cast and new young cast. 
This will ensure that there is continuity, and we'll be able to see what happened to our beloved heroes 20 years after the last episode "Hand of God".

Forget "Galactica: 1980" and new cast.
